I am a passionate yoga practitioner, a skillful yoga teacher, a Vision & Goals coach and the founder of Rebel Yoga Retreats. Every time I come to the mat with Brisa, I come away with new acceptance and knowledge of myself. The flow of her class is an excellent moving meditation with intense portions followed by deep stretching to warm up the body before more traditional flow practice. In a couple months practicing with her, I’ve gained increased strength, balance, flexibility, and a better meditation practice outside of yoga. Her blend of humor, compassion, and warmth invite everyone to come as you are, and she provides alternate pose choices for all skill levels and body abilities. The class begins with therapeutic intention-setting while music, energy, and flow carry that intention through the practice. The final excerpt reading during Shavasana provides a spiritual and intellectual counterpoint to the physical sensations. The topic tends to be an emotional release and becomes thematic in my week. Brisa has completely transformed my yoga practice. Her style of yoga is unique, and nothing like I have studied before. Brisa incorporates intelligent pose sequencing and a blend of healing practices, with the underlying principle of "togetherness". Her genuine commitment to developing her student's is inspiring.
